Elbert Kenley Hackler, 84, resident of the Comers Rock community, died in a Marion hospital Thursday, April 17, 1958.

Born in Grayson County, Mr. Hackler was a son of the late Steven Hackler and wife, Mrs. Lena Roark Hackler.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mitchell Delp and Mrs. Clyde Comer, both of Comers Rock, and Mrs. Ruth Hale, Whiteford, Md.; three sons, Fields Hackler, Comers Rock, and Raymond Hackler and Ralph Hackler, both of Greensboro, N.C.; four brothers, Wiley Hackler, RFD 2 Galax; Joseph and Emmett Hackler, both of Comers Rock, and Calvin Hackler, Ridgefarm, Ill., and 23 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Comers Rock, Saturday at 2:00 p.m., by the Rev. R. F. Baumann, pastor of the Elk Creek Circuit, and the Rev. J. R. Shumate, of Sugar Grove, Baptist minister.

Interment, under direction of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, was in Comers Rock Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Henry Jones, Jack Hale, Claude Delp, Straley Delp, Wilbur Delp and Howard Delp.

Flowers were carried by granddaughters and nieces of the deceased.
