William was born to Frederick & Augusta (Thiem) the second of five children. At the age of 26 he married Clara Anna Werth bat 1912. Unfortunately she died during the childbirth of their first child as did the baby girl in 1915. William went on to marry a widow Mary (Siess) Frederich who lost her newlywed husband when he was hit by lightening in 1915. To this union are six known children:
