Grace D. (Mitchell) Herbert, 81, of Solvay, passed away Saturday at Loretto Cunningham. She was born in Solvay to the late Dominick and Mildred (Williams) Mitchell in 1932. Grace was a self-employed beautician, a tester at GE for five years and worked at Mead Containers for 10 years before retiring in 1982. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia Church and volunteer for their Food Pantry, the Franciscan Associates of St. Cecilia's, the Funeral Luncheon Guild and the Clown Ministry. As a lover of music, she played the bells and tambourine for the Entertainment Band, a ladies group that entertained many local senior organizations and facilities for several years. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. in 1958. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Denice and William DelFavero of Camillus; two grandchildren, Robert and Melissa of Camillus; a sister, Joanne (Richard) Meyer of Ohio; a brother, Dominick (Mary) Mitchell Jr. of Camillus; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, and 9:30 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave. Contributions may be made in her memory to St Cecilia's Food Pantry, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay, NY 13209.
