Leocadia "Lottie" K. Fura, 85, formerly of Sy Road, passed away Tuesday April 2, 2002 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born December 1, 1916 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Hipolit and Agnieszka (Gondak) Sobieniak. She attended local schools. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, gardening and bingo. Member of Holy Trinity R.C. Church and American Legion Portage Post No. 1465 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Fura was predeceased by her husband, Robert Fura on July 26, 1985. She is survived by sisters Helen Madej and Adele Pietraszewski, both of Niagara Falls, NY; brother Henry (Jean) Sobieniak Sr. of Niagara Falls, NY; also survived by several nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Irene Jelielek, Stella Kochan, Jessie V. Pyrciak and brother Edward "Butch" Sobieniak.
Visitation is Friday April 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Zajac Funeral Home, Inc., 319 24th Street, Corner of Welch Avenue, where American Legion Portage Post No. 1465 Ladies Auxiliary will have services at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral services Saturday April 6, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:15 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 24th and Niagara Street with Bishop Edward M. Grosz officiating. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Leocadia "Lottie" Fura, 85, a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, gardening and bingo, died Tuesday (April 2, 2002) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Fura had been living in Crestwood Nursing Home for the past few years. She was born Leocadia Sobieniak in Niagara Falls and attended schools there.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Niagara Falls, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Portage Post 1465, American Legion, in Niagara Falls.
Her husband, Robert, died in 1985.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Madej and Adele Pietraszewski, both of Niagara Falls, and a brother, Henry Sobieniak Sr. of Niagara Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 24th and Niagara streets, Niagara Falls, after prayers at 11 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St., Niagara Falls.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
