The Holden Progress Sept 27, 1979 Lula Paul Roach, 87, of Warrensburg died Sunday, Sept 23, at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia. She was born in Holden on Nov 27, 1891, a daughter of James Perry and Amanda Lane Paul. She was married to Grover T. Roach on April 19, 1914 in Holden and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1966. Mr. and Mrs. Roach owned and operated a grocery business at 33rd and Indiana in Kansas City from 1930 until 1945 when they moved to a farm near Centerview. They moved to Warrensburg in 1960. Mrs. Roach was a member of the Warrensburg Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son, William T. Roach, Liberty and a sister Mrs. Hazel Caldwell of Holden, nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 25 at Ben Cast and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Gale Spilman officiating clergyman. Pallbearers were William T. Roach, Jr., Robert M. Roach, Michael G. Roach and David G. Roach. Burial in the Holden Cemetery. W/O Grover T.
