ERICK, Okla. — Fern McAden, 90, of Erick died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Erick First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home of Erick.
Mrs. McAden was born Nov. 3, 1922, in Jester to Bertha Florence and Elliott Boone Bradley. She married Ralph McAden on June 25, 1990.
Survivors include her children, La Nelda Hughes of Robinson, Texas, Dennis Edward Vines of Erick and David Vines of Owasso; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mildred Smith of Amarillo, Texas, Dorothy Bowden of Coushatta, La., and Ruby Bea Gowdy of Morrow Bay, Calif.

Edith Fern McAden was born November 3, 1922 in Jester, Oklahoma to Bertha Florence and Elliott Boone Bradley. She passed away August 4, 2013 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age or 90 years, 9 months and 1 day. Fern grew up in the Jester community and attended school at Plainview. She later married Edward D. Vines on May 6, 1943. They lived in San Diego while he was in the Navy before returning to western Oklahoma where they farmed at Plainview. They later moved to Borger, Texas where she continued her education at Frank Phillips College and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at the hospital and two nursing homes in Borger. In 1978, they moved to Erick where she worked at the Erick Nursing Home until her retirement. Edward passed away in 1987 and Fern later was married to Ralph McAden on June 25, 1990 and continued to make her home in Erick. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a daughter, Roxanne Redman, a granddaughter, Kim Redman, an infant brother and 2 additional brothers, Boyd and Lloyd Bradley, and 2 sisters, Coral Clynch and Ferrol Burkhalter. She is survived by her children, La Nelda Hughes and husband, Don, Robinson, TX, Dennis Edward Vines and wife, Mary, Erick, OK and David Vines and wife, Elaine, Owasso, OK; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mildred Smith, Amarillo, TX, Dorothy Bowden, Coushatta, LA and Ruby Bea Gowdy, Morrow Bay, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
