Mildred F. Smith, 93 of Amarillo passed away August 17, 2013. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell.
Mildred was born March 11, 1920 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Elliott and Bertha Bradley.
She married Emit Smith in 1941 in Mangum and they moved to Amarillo in 1954. Emit passed away in 1982.
Mildred was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ for more than 50 years and volunteered her time often to the church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be truly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emit Smith; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, a grandchild and a son-in-law.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Linda Honaker of Amarillo, Dr. Paula Smith-Allen and husband Robert of Durant, Oklahoma and Betty Moolick and husband Richard of Tempe, Arizona; sons, Phillip Smith and wife Aleda of Campbell, Texas and Mark Smith and wife Kathy of Temecula, California; sisters, Dorothy Bowden of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana and Ruby Gowdy of Morro Bay, California; also by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
