Mrs. Edith Matthews Richards, 80, of East Liverpool, Ohio, formerly of Peters Township, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1967, in Ezel, Ky., while visiting her sister.

She was born in McMurray on Jul. 13, 1887, a daughter of William Andrew and Ella Fife Matthews.

Mrs. Richards was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church, McMurray.

Her husband, Frank R. Richards Sr., died Dec. 13, 1957.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Herbert Melone, of East Liverpool, Ohio; six sons, Earl K. of San Antonio, Texas, John F. of Canonsburg, Frank R. Jr. of McMurray, Andrew M. of Castle Shannon, David P. of McMurray, and Robert C. of Rockdale, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ada M. Dougherty of Canonsburg, Mrs. Claribel Heagen of Ezel, Ky., and Mrs. Ethel Wassum of Orlando, Fla.

A brother, James M. Matthews, and a sister, Mrs. Bradford R. Williams, are deceased.
