FANNIE S. HAWTHORNE
Fannie S. Hawthorne, 89, died Tuesday at the Billings Deaconess Hospital, where she had worked as an LPN in the maternity ward for fifteen years. She retired in 1960.
Mrs. Hawthorne enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Red Lodge.
She was born in Buffalo, Wyo., the daughter of James and Candas Pauley. She was raised on a ranch in Bowler. In 1911 she married Alex B. Hawthorne in Billings; he died in 1960. They lived in Bear Creek from 1912 until 1947 when they moved to Billings.
Survivors include two sons, Everett K. Hawthorne of 1031 N. 24th St., Billings and Alex of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mildred H. Jones of Beaverton, Ore., and Mina Keyser of Ronan; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
