Lee Briley was born in McCurtain County in Valliant, Oklahoma, December 23, 1910. He was the son of Doc and Mary Briley. He grew up on the Clear Creek community, and later years he moved to Memphis, Texas where he made his home. He departed this life in the University Hospital in Oklahoma City, Saturday, February 16, 1980. He leaves to mourn in his passing one son Edward Lee Briley of Memphis, Texas, two sisters, Georgian Shelton and Maude Foster both of Valliant. Three brothers Hosie Briley, Sr., and Theodore Briley, both of Valliant, Ezekiel Briley of Tulsa, three granddaughters, a daughter in law and a host of other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
