Prior to his grandfather John Moffett's death in 1805, he had purchased 2000 acres in Green County, Kentucky according to Augusta Co., VA Deed dated 16 Aug 1833, from John Moffett, III to John Brown, Trustee. It was not mentioned in his will, but was included in his estate final settlement dated 26 Jan 1835 (Shared by RTG).
He died early from Cholora on EITHER 23 or 25 Jun 1834.
It is believed John and his family were traveling through Ohio, with the intention of settling near Fort Wayne, Indiana. They left in wagons from Augusta Co., VA and arrived in Parkersburg, WV. There they transferred to boats, on the Ohio River, arriving in Cincinnati. After John died, his wife's brother Henry, brought them back to Augusta Co. The North Mountain Moffett Family, by Reese T.
