W.T. Cameron, 58, Columbia Businessman.

William T. (Bill) Cameron, 58, of 200 South Woodrow Street, owner and operator of the Palmetto Distributing Company, The Skyway Drive-In Theater, and the Safeway Brake Shop, died suddenly Saturday night after suffering a hear attack.

Mr. Cameron was born in Kershaw County, Oct. 13, 1903, a son of the late James McCarley and Mamie McCaw Cameron. Prior to opening his own business, Mr. Cameron was connected with the Southern Railway Company. He was a member of Rose Hill Presbyterian Church, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a lifetime member of the Elks Club.

Mr. Cameron was twice married, first to Miss Myrtle Lee Ford, who died in 1926. Surviving this union are a daughter, Mrs. L.H. (Jean) Clerc of Charleston.

Also surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna Hunter Cameron and surviving this union are two daughters, Mrs. Brooks D. (Betty) Harrison and Mrs. C.K. (Nancy) Leitner, both of Columbia.

Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Gordon, Mrs. Earl Martin, Mrs. A.O. Coker and Mrs. W.C. Stogner, all of Columbia; six grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Dunbar Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock by his pastor, the Rev. Alex M. Mitchell. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Archie Coker, Jr., O.V. Gordon, James S. Gordon, Mort Hymson, Dale Nelson, Ray Vassey, James W. Breazeale and Tommy Martin.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of Palmetto Distributing Company, Employees of Safeway Brake Shop, Clint Graydon, R.L. Kight, Cecil Wiles. Cliff Harper, Dr. L.J. Brannon, Frank Zander, Dr. O.B. Mayer, T.D. Taylor, J.C. Inabinet, Kirk Koochagian, U.S. Lammers, Dr. W.C. Cantey, Clyde White, Harold Byrd, Senator Olin D. Johnston, Mayor Lester L. Bates, Ernest Quarles, E.T. Nelson, Herbert Wilson and Jim May.
