Funeral services will be held at the Evangelical and Reformed church Friday, 1:30 p.m. for Mrs. Benjamin F. Keeler, 63, who passed away at her farm home south of Lone Tree at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 16. Mrs. Keeler had been suffering from a lingering illness quite sometime.
Susan Jane Keeler, daughter of John Bell and Susan Kayne Bell, was born August 22, 1888 in Johnson county, Iowa. On March 17, 1905 she was married to Benjamin F. Keeler in Muscatine and spent the remainder of her life in and around the immediate community.
Mrs. Keeler was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church and also a member of the Women's Guild of the same church.
Mrs. Keeler was preceeded in death by two children James Henry and Helen Hubbard.
Survivors are her husband, Benjamin F . Keeler, Benjamin John, Keith, Stanley, Bruce and Robert all of Lone Tree, Mrs. Jennie Fagerlind of Waterloo, Mrs. Bernadine Tobias of Muscatine, Marylynn Maher of Davenport, and Staff Sgt. Wm. D. Keeler of Scott Air Force Base.
Also surviving are two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. James Hacke, Tuscon, Arizona; Mrs. Mayme Estle, Conesville; James Bell, Lone Tree; John Bell and Wm. Bell both of Iowa City.
The funeral service will be in charge of Rev. Otto E. Baumann and interment will be in the Lone Tree cemetery. The body will be at the Sorden and Adams funeral home until time of the services.
