Rita Louise Childers Hardy
CLARKSBURG -- Rita Louise Childers Hardy, 86, of Bond Street, Clarksburg, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at United Hospital Center, following an extended illness.
She was born in Weston, Feb. 11, 1915, a daughter of the late Epp and Hattie Cottrill Childers.
She was married to Clarence E. Hardy, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1983.
Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Jim C. Childers and his wife Betty, Maple Avenue, Stonewood; three nieces, Rita Mae McClung, Debbie Childers and Renee Childers; three nephews, Randy Childers, Jim Snyder and Paul Snyder; one sister-in-law, Eva Hardy, Clarksburg; and a special friend, Pearl Friday.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Wyomia Snyder; two brothers, Terry and Aubry Childers; and one niece, Twila Almond.
Mrs. Hardy was formerly a member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens and Duff Street United Methodist Church.
Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, after 7 p.m. today and after noon Sunday, where funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery.
