Edward E. Brown, 86 year old Waverly man, died Saturday morning, January 18th at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, where he had been a patient a little less than a week.

Born at Montezuma, Illinois, May 30, 1877, the son of John W. and Mary Short Brown, he had been a resident of this community for a number of years.

He is survived by his widow, Gertrude and the following children: Mrs. Louise Jeffers, Mrs. Mildred Roberts and Mrs. Francis Green, all of Springfield; Mrs. Leona Piercy, Mrs. Virgie Heriford and Mrs. Evelyn Harney, all of Waverly; Mrs. Josephine Druktenis of Santa Maria, Calif.; Mrs. Norma Fletcher of Modesto; Mrs. Barbara Burnell of Virden; Robert of Springfield; Edward of Bethalto; Leonard of Jerseyville and Herman of Danville; one brother John R. of Waverly; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Wheeler of Waverly and Mrs. Cora Nortrup of White Hall.

One son, John Franklin Brown, was killed in World War II.
