His Obituary:

Funeral services for Edward Carmack Barnes, who died at Colton, California Friday, September 4, were held at 2 P.M. today (Thursday) at Higgins Funeral Home.

Elder R. A. Largen and Elder Campbell Pullias officiated. Burial was in Barnes Cemetery. Military services were conducted at the grave.

Mr. Barnes was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Abraham Marion and Fannie Ann McDaniel Barnes.

He had served over 22 years in the U. S. Army and was retired at the time of death.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Sewell Barnes; six brothers, William, John, Robert, Adrian, Claude and Pleas Barnes, all of Lincoln County; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Honey, Estill Springs, Tennessee, Mrs. Eva Meeks, Hazel Green, Alabama, and Mrs. Katherine Flynn, Waco, Texas.
