Kennon Stewart, the youngest son/child of John William "Bill" and Susan Samirania Woods Stewart was born May 15, 1885 in McNairy County, Tennessee and died April 10, 1964. His father, Bill Stewart has been married two times before his marriage to Kennon's mom Susan. His first marriage to Melicia Kennon was very short lived as she died from the measles only a month or two after their marriage, however she must have weighed on his heart as his last son born carrys her maiden name of Kennon. Bill's second wife Malissa Shelton gave birth to a daughter Sallie Nona in 1873 and shortly after her birth died from the result of a buggy accident. Bill then married Susan in Dec of 1873. The first sibling of Kennon was James, Eldred born in 1874, Kennon then had five other siblings, Woods, born 1876 but also died in 1876, Ossyth Mae "Ossie" born in 1877, Winstone born in 1880, Brown born in 1882 and Donald H born in 1884. On September 12, 1918 at the age of 33 Kennon registered for the WWI Draft, he gives his mom as his nearest relative and his occupation as a bridge building foreman for the railroad. On December 26th of that same year he lost his father. On August 21, 1926 Kennon lost his mom and that same year family trees have him married to Lillie Alma Talley on December 4th but no records have been found to prove this date. In 1930 The Morgan County, Alabama census finds Kennon, 44, as a Foreman with the railroad and married with wife Lillie A 38 and a newborn son James T Stewart. In the 1940 Kennon, 54 and his family are still living in Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama at 307 5th Ave West, owning his home and still a foreman for the railroad. His wife Lillie is 48 and along with his son James Thomas who is now 10 they have been joined by another son Kennon B who is 9. In 1942 he lost his brother Winston on December 2nd. Then in 1944 on November 14th he lost his wife Lillie and buried her in the Holly Cemetery in Alcorn County, Mississippi. By January 25, 1946 he had lost another brother, James Eldred Stewart who lived in Charlotte, North Carolina but was returned to Alcorn County, Mississippi to be buried in the Holly Cemetery. In 1953 he buried his oldest son James Thomas on March 8th in the Holly Cemetery in Alcorn County, Mississippi. On December 13, 1957 once again he lost another brother Donald H and on March 27, 1962 he once again returned to Holly Cemetery to bury his sister Ossie Stewart Burns. However, although his home address may have been 307 5th Ave West in Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama he sometime or another returned to his roots as upon his death in 1964 he returned to Alcorn County, Mississippi once again for a final time to Holly Cemetery to be buried along side his wife Lillie and among his parents and so many of his siblings.
