Larry B. Buford was born September 21, 1951 in Nashville, Tennessee. The son of Willie Buford, Jr. and Clara Taylor Buford. He attended the public schools of Nashville and graduated from Pearl Senior High School and later attended Tennessee State University. He worked at Bridgestone Tire Plant for nine years.

He married Mildred Hayes in 1969 and this union was blessed with two daughters. "Sugar Bear" as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband devoted to his wife, children, family, and friends. His sudden passing October 21, 1984 is a deep loss to members of this family and a deep and personal bereavement to his friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Mildred Buford; two daughters, Tracy Lynn and Tanya Denise; devoted mother, Mrs. Clara Buford; devoted father, Willie Buford, Jr.; one brother, Willie Buford, III; four sisters, Julia Winston, Gloria Buford, Angela Hathaway, and Linda Buford; two nephews, Ricco Buford and Jermaine Winston; grandparents, Dellie Taylor Mamie and Willie Buford, Sr.; devoted mother-in-law, Lula Mae Hayes; nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins and other relatives; dear friend, Freeman Marks.
