Gloria Dale Buford was born to Willie Buford, Jr. and the late Clara [Taylor] Buford on April 23, 1948 in Nashville, Tennessee. Departed this life Monday, December 20, 2004 after a brief illness.

She was a graduate of Pearl High School, Class of 1966. She furthered her education by attending Watkins Business School and Nashville Technical Institute. Gloria was a dedicated and loyal employee of the State of Tennessee. She a was Secretary in the State Office until she became disabled.

Gloria was a member of Mt. Sinai Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later attended other churches.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara [Taylor] Buford and her brother, Larry Brady Buford.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memory; a loving and devoted son, Ricco Buford; devoted father, Willie Buford Jr.; devoted sisters, Julia [Buford] Winston of Detroit, Michigan, Angela [Buford] Hathaway and Linda [Buford] Bailey; brother, Willie "Bill" Buford III; sister-in-law, Mildred Buford Cantrell; brother-in-law, Billy Hathaway; aunts, Mary [Taylor] Chatman and Frances Buford; uncles, William "Mack" Buford and Amos Buford; devoted friends, James Davis, Mary "Sweetie Pie" Woodson, Deborah Vanleer and Dreada Amos; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Visitation with the family Sunday, December 26, 2004 from 6-7 p.m. at The Atena Chapel, 1107 Buchanan Street. Funeral to follow with Rev. Reginald Brock officiating.

Interment Monday, December 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Main Garden of St. Luke. Johnson's House Of Atena,1107 Buchanan St, (615) 254-3472.
