Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Barnett Franklin, 37 years of age, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Caffee with the Rev. J. L. Robinson in charge. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery Mrs. Franklin died at the Lebanon Hospital Sunday. Surviving are her husband, Jimmie Franklin; her mother, Mrs. Lucy Caffee; a sister, Mrs. Ida Kassell, Detroit; three brothers: Dave Barnett, Dan Barnett, and Frank Barnett; and six half-sisters: Mrs. Ann Dickens, Miss Maude Caffee, Mrs. Ludie Pike, Mrs. Rosie Pike, Mrs. Lizzie Johnson, Mrs. Dorie Perkins; and three half-brothers: Sam Barnett, Bill Barnett, and Dock Barnett, all of Taylor County. Pallbearers were: Frank Barnett, David Barnett, Bill Barnett, L.N. Barnett, F.L. Perkins, and James Perkins. Flower girls were Marie Clarke, Stella Glenn, Lorene Perkins, Frances Cox, Marie Grey, Evelyn Canada, Pauline Wright, and Clyde Berry. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, May 28, 1942
