Mr. Walter Blair "Bing" Keir, age 86 of 242 Cornwallis Road, Teachey, died Friday October 24 at Rosemary Rest Home in Rose Hill, NC.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 27, 2008, 11:00 AM at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC, conducted by Reverend Alan Bandy. Burial followed in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Patty Keir High and husband Bill of Fayetteville, NC, Ms. Frances Keir of Topsail Beach and Raleigh, NC, two sons, Larry Keir of Teachey, NC and Danny Keir and wife Ann of Wilmington, NC, one sister, Mrs. Esther Stuart of Rose Hill, NC, and one brother, Ted Keir of Athens, Pa., ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Born in Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, Mr. Keir was the son of the late George and Libby Morley Keir and was husband of the late Nellie Grey Hunt Keir. He was also predeceased by four sisters two brothers, and a Grandson, David Lee Keir
and one Great Granddaughter, Selena Morgan High.
Mr. Keir was a mail-carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years.
Casketbearers were Billy High, Keir High, Allen Keir, Daniel Keir, Andy High, Chris Keir and Mark High.
Visitation was at Mr. Keir's residence, 242 Cornwallis Road, Teachey from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
