CHILHOWIE, Va. Vicie Mae Vanhoozer, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 6, 2013, in the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. She was born in Tazewell, Virginia on Feb. 1, 1928, to the late Hal and Katherine Dillow Cornwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vanhoozer; her children, Janie Vanhoozer, Virginia Etter and husband, Pat, Steve Vanhoozer and Jim Vanhoozer; and a granddaughter, Denise Etter. She had retired from the Farm Bureau of Chilhowie and was a member of the Chilhowie Baptist Church. She enjoyed walking, crochet, reading her bible and swinging on the porch. She is survived by her children, Wayne Vanhoozer and wife, Cory, Ann Rich and husband, Kenny; a special daughter-in-law, Barbara Vanhoozer; her best friends, Granny Doane and Juanita Cooper; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Cornwell; her sisters, Florence Cornwell and Delilah Vanhoozer, Mamie McClead, Hattie Richardson and Ginny Ann Cornwell. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie, with Pastor Chuck Herrell and Pastor Mark Totten officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, Va.
