Catharina Nied was born in 1741, in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Johann Georg and Maria Margaretha Nied. On October 28, 1760, in New Hanover Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, she married Michael Freeze, son of immigrants Johann Michael and Maria Charlotta Fechter Friess/Freeze. They were the parents of 10 children: Anna Mary, Elizabeth, Hannah, Eva, John George, John, Catharina, Maria Magdalena, Margaretha and Jacob Freeze. The family left Pennsylvania and settled in Frederick County, Maryland, around the time of the American Revolution. Catharina passed away before 1799, in the Woodsboro District, Frederick County, Maryland. It is unknown where she was buried.
