Norval Ward, 79, Kirklin, Dies Tuesday

Obit: Kirklin - Norval D. Ward, 79, of Kirklin, died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He had been ill the past year and a half.

Mr. Ward was retired custodian of Kirklin High School, a position he held for 21 years. Prior to that he worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Kirklin Presbyterian Church.

Born in Kirklin, Aug 31, 1882, he was the son of George M. and Armilda Harrell Ward. He married the former Viretta Sparks on June 25, 1944, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Charles of Peoria, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. Helen Blakeflee of Dayton, O.; a sister, Cholie Ulm of Brookville; a brother Losey Ward of Kirklin, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Three sisters Effie Boots, Marie Underwood, and Maude Ward, and two brothers, Chester and Morton B. Ward, preceded him in death.

Arrangements are in charge of the Pence Funeral Home and will be announced later.

Norval Ward Rites At Kirklin Saturday

Funeral services for Norval Ward will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Kirklin United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Eldridge M. McGeehee will officiate with interment following in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin. Friends may call at the Pence Funeral Home, Kirklin after 6 p.m. Thursday
