Velma Mae Dyer, 96, Raymore, Missouri, passed away May 7, 2004, at Foxwood Springs Living Center.
Velma was born in Marshall County, Kansas, on November 21, 1907. She moved with her family to Atchison, Kansas, in 1926. There she married Delbert "Deb" Dyer on May 12, 1928, and moved to St. Joseph, Missouri. In 1947, they became residents of North Kansas City, where she worked at the Palace Clothing Company. She was a long time member of North Cross United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. In about 1996 she moved to Foxwood Springs Living Center where she pursued her favorite pastime of quilting. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Maude Garrison; sisters, Lola Zeigler, Elsie Garrison and Vera Peterson; and brother, Harold Garrison; husband, Deb Dyer; son-in-law, Robert Brownlee; granddaughter, Karen Rexroad; great grandson, Ben Rexroad. She is survived by daughter, Delores Brownlee; granddaughter, Barbara Horner and husband, Marc; grandson, Robert Brownlee Jr. and wife, Valorie; great grandchildren, Scott Rexroad and wife, Andi, Andrea and Emily Horner, Jeremy, Sarah, Ryan, Jason and Carrie Brownlee; and many family members all who loved her very, very much.
