Ruby Cleo Choate was born in Manitou. She enjoyed a long life and a career in retail sales because she was a "people person". Family members and economic opportunity brought her to Texas. Throughout her long and illustrious life, she was very active in local community affairs and her church activities. She was a member of the Oldham Lane Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Tom Davis and DeWitt Reid; daughter: Earnestine Davis; six brothers: Walter, Jack, Hollis, Bailey, Cecil, and Lawton Choate; and two sisters: Irene Ballard and Virgie Shankles.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
