Mr. Brewer was born in the Stout Community of Wood County to the late Elijah L. and Myrtle Lee Finch Brewer.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sgt. and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a retired farmer, and a member of Tinney Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Brance and Reece Futral; one great-grandson, Miles Brewer; three brothers, Inf-Ivan Brewer, Loyd Brewer, Floyd Brewer; two sisters, Mary Roberta Wooley, and Lila Mae Parker.
