Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Brewer, 88, were held Friday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. in the McCrary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.M. Sheffield and Rev. Gary Curry officiating, Burial was in Sharon Cemetery. Mrs. Brewer, who lived most of her life in the Winnsboro area, died Wednesday, February 14, in Winnsboro Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for more than three weeks. She had been ill for several years. She had resided at Route 3, Winnsboro, since 1961. Survivors are three sons, Floyd Brewer and Travis Brewer, Winnsboro, and Lloyd Brewer, Timpson; two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Wooley, Houston, and Mrs. Lila Mae Parker, Royce City; one brother, John Finch, Monroe, Louisiana; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchilden and five great great grandchildren. Myrtle Lee Finch Brewer was born in Delta County to John and Florence Chambers Finch on October 31, 1890. In 1905 she married E.L. Brewer, who proceded her in death on July 22, 1962. She was a housewife and a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church. She and her husband reared their children in Winnsboro then lived in Houston until his retirement from Rice Institute in 1961 when they returned to Winnsboro. One son, Ivan, preceded her in death. Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Brewer, David Brewer, Robert Wooley, C. David Parker, Gerald Brewer and Lester Parker. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Brewer, Donnie Parker, Tom Brewer, Troy D. Brewer, Dennis Parker, Richard P. Brewer, Ronnie Parker, Steven Brewer and Cecil Brewer.
