Delma Lorine Swearingen, daughter of Daniel and Rachel (Garber)Landes, was born on February 22, 1937. After a gradual decline in health and a short battle with illness, she left her earthly body for her heavenly home on January 13, 2013.
It was on September 28, 1958, that she married James Richard Swearingen, and they were privileged to enjoy fifty-five years together.
Delma was baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully all her life, joining the fellowship of believers of the Old German Baptist Brethren, New Conference, Maple Grove district.
Dad and Mom loved to travel; their trips to Romania were especially life changing as these trips turned their focus towards giving to others. Mom was a seamstress for many years, sewing custom draperies. She was blessed with three grandchildren, who were some of the greatest joys of her life. Her loved ones will treasure the memories of her generous hospitality and gracious example.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son James, and sister Bernice Boone. Left to remember her is her husband; son David and wife Michelle; grandchildren: Brendan, Bailey and Dane; brothers Dennis and Ruth Landes, Alva and Pauline Landes; sister Lela and Marvin Shoup; and brother-in-law Bob and Betsy Boone. Also here to continue on are precious brothers and sisters in laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
