Luther was third of nine children born to Calvin G. and Louise A. Lambert. He married Mary Elizabeth Royal in 1903 and they were the parents of three sons: Lewis Heskill, Clyde Clarence and Graves Earl.

GRAHAM, June 15 - Luther S. Kivett, 73, of 376 W. Market St., died yesterday morning following two days of critical illness. A native of Chatham County, he was a retired textile employee. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Royal Kivett of the home; one son, Lewis H. Kivett of Pilot Mountain; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Kivett Bivins of Burlington; one brother, P. C. Kivett of Lakeland, Fla., and five grandchildren. Funeral services ere held at 2 p.m. today at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro.
