Agatha "Aggie" Baker, 79 of Devils Lake and Mesa, AZ passed away on Thursday November 8,2012 at the Fountain Hills Care Center, Fountain Hills, AZ.

Mass of Christian Burial for Aggie will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake, ND with Fr. C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Friends may call at the church beginning at 6:30 p.m. until time of the funeral Mass. Graveside Services for Aggie will be on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Devils Lake Cemetery.


Agatha Hager was born on April 15, 1933 in Selz, ND the daughter of John M. and Magdalena (Miltenberger) Hager. At a young age she moved with the family to Devils Lake where she was reared and educated, graduating from high school with the class of 1951. She also took bookkeeping courses at Lake Region Junior College during the early 1960's. Aggie would make Devils Lake her home for the rest of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for Schwann Wholesale for 35 years retiring in 1997.

In 1985, Aggie was united in marriage to Lyle Baker. They enjoyed each other's company and love as they made their home in Devils Lake for the past 27 years. They spent many of the winter months in Mesa, AZ and also traveling whenever they got the chance. She was a life time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Altar Society.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had a faith that sustained her through the bad times and that same faith was ever present and shared with family and friends in the good times.

Aggie is survived by her husband, Lyle; her sons, Greg Holien (Fiancé Terri Oravits) of Whitewood, SD, Doug Holien (Robin) of Deadwood, SD; stepchildren, Eva (Dean) Fercho of Fargo, ND, Jeanette (George) Kueneman of Lander, WY. There are 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Ken Hager and his wife Judy of Devils Lake and Raymond Hager and his wife Rosa of Portland, Oregon; four sisters, Cecelia Parkos of Pengilly, MN, Irene Streifel of Jamestown, ND, Bernice Bays of Spokane, Washington and Maggie Evanson of Northwood, ND; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents John M. and Magdalena Hager; brothers, Michael E. Hager and Jacob "Jack" Hager; sisters, Elizabeth Jorgenson and two sisters in infancy; nephew, Donald Parkos; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Edna Baker; a sister-in-law and 5 brothers-in-law.
