Mary was the second child of eight born to John Pawliryn (1881 - 1964) and Josephine Djubek Pawlirzyn (1881 - 1967), Polish immigrants who came through Ellis Island (1906). Mary might have been born at sea when her parents, along with older sister Justine (1903 - 1978) were on a return voyage to see family in Polan (Ukraine). Josephine had gone back to Poland to see her brother and/or father and she may have given birth to Mary abord ship on the return voyage.

She married Frank (Sonny) Gescheidle Sr and had one son, Francis (Frankie) Gescheidle Jr. Mary and her family lived in the Bronx, New York, close to her sister Justine and her parents. I do believe that Mary was a stay-at-home mom bringing up her son. Sonny was in the trucking buisiness and they lived in the Bronx until Sonny passed away. They had owned land/farm on Long Island, Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, where their son, Frankie married and moved to the farm and started his family and a business.

Mary then moved to a Senior Citizen complex just down the road from the farm and she lived there until her death. It was very convenient fo Mary as she was just blocks from her son and his family.

I remember my Aunt Mary as being the life of the party, She could sing and dance and would have the best of times at family weddings and other occassions. The song I remember her sining the most started with this line: "One of these days, you're gonna me honey". Mary would always be very outgoing and she had a booming singing voice to match her larger than life personality. Family and friends loved her for her happy, gregarious nature and the ability to make everyone have a good time and feel like they were at home.

Marys' siblings include:
Justine (Jenny) (Pawlirzyn) Somyk (1903 - 1978),
Anthony (Turk/Tony) Pawlirzyn (1912 - living),
(* My uncle will turn 100 years old Dec 12 of 2012 and is the last living child of the eight original children of John and Josephine Pawlirzyn),
