Elmina was the daughter of James Williams and Mary Cooley, the youngest of 11 children, born in Galena Twp, La Porte County, Indiana. On 13 Aug 1873, Mina married Eldridge G Burtt in Middleville, Barry Co, Michigan. Mina and Eldridge had one son: Charles W Burtt.

Mina and Eldridge moved to Dawson County, Montana by 1900, where Eldridge died in 1920. After Eldridge died, Mina and her son Charles moved to Portland, Oregon.

Funeral notice=
BURTT--Oct. 2, Mina E. Burtt, late of 82d ave. and S.E. Hinkley st.; beloved mother of Dr. Charles W. Burtt of Portland. Friends invited to attend funeral services Monday, Oct. 4. at 1 P.M., at the Chapel of the Mt. Scott Funeral Home, Foster road at S.E. 59th ave. Commitment Lincoln Memorial Park.
