Mary "Mollie" Williams was the daughter of James Williams and Mary Cooley, born in Kankakee Twp, La Porte, Indiana. Mary's parents moved from Indiana to Michigan during the early 1860s.

Mary first married Jesse Knapp in Dec 1872 in Allegan County, Michigan.

After Jesse died, she married Pvt Charles Marcellus Bixler in Jun 1886 in Barry Co, Michigan. Charles had served in the Civil War. Mary did not have children.

Mary died at Soldiers Home Hospital at Grand Rapids, Michigan at the age of 76 yrs, 9 mos, 21 days. Her death certificate confirmed she was buried in Coman Cemetery, likely buried together with her parents. No marker or plot information.
