Hearts were saddened as the news of the death of grandma Alexander spread throughout the community.
Charlotte Miller was born March 12, 1844 at Fort Wayne, Ind. and died Sept. 2, 1922 at the age 78 years, 5 mo. 11 (days). She was united in marriage to Henry Alexander of Marshall Co., Mo. Oct. 18, 1866. To this union were born seven children, two of whom preceded her to the spirit world. She is survived by her aged companion, three daughters; Mrs. A. A. McKee of Princeton Mo., Mrs. Ed McKee of Summerfield, Mrs. E. Miller of Stockton, Kansas, and (sons): W. Alexander of Mt. Moriah, Mo. and Geo. Alexander of Modena, Mo. all of whom were present at the time of her death. She also leaves sixteen grand children and four great grandchildren.
Grandma lived a devout christian life and her last days were spent close to her master. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Brethren church by Rev. Kistner of Sabetha, Kan.
Note: Due to length the poem was not included. She was preceded in death by her children: Baby Alexander and son Elza O. Alexander. The services were held at the Richland Center Church of the Brethren, Marshall County, Kansas with burial in the Richland Center Church Cemetery. (lt)
