He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fairfield. He was self-employed as a busing contractor for 35 years and had been deputy sheriff of Adams Co. for a number of years, Seiferd also served as Fairfield chief of police. He was a member of the Fairfield Fire Co. and the C.B. Club.
Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Florence Martin; a son, H. Kenneth Seiferd, Blue Ridge Summit; a daughter, Effie I. Gilmore, 16 E. Main St., Fairfield; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Bennett and Ruth Powell of Fairfield; Kathryn McCleaf, Reading; Doris Currens, Hanover; a brother, George Seiferd, Fairfield R.1; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday from the Monahan Funeral Home, Fairfield. Interment will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
