Mrs. J.S. Adams Buried Sunday
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the chapel of Sandersville Funeral Home for Mrs. J.S. Adams, 74, daughter of pioneer citizens of Washington county. Burial was in Brownwood cemetery.
Mrs. Adams, whose home was in Sandersville, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.H. Matthews, at Keysville, after a long illness. She had suffered a stroke of paralysis more than a year ago.
The former, Miss Bert Martin, Mrs. Adams' parents were early builders of Washington county. She was married twice. Her first husband having been the late Richard Harris, and to them three children were born.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. R.H. Matthews of Keysville, and Mrs. T.C. Holmes of Atlanta; a son, W. Martin Harris of Sandersville; a sister, Mrs. M. M. Culpepper of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren, Mrs. Raymond P. Starr and T.C. Holmes, Jr. of Atlanta; William M. Harris, Sandersville, and R. Harris Matthews, Keysville; and two great-grandchildren.
