Marie Magdalene Banach, age 77, a resident of Route 3, Pierz, Minnesota died Wednesday, September 22, 1993 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Marie was born in Morrison County July 1, 1916 to the late Bernard and Katherine (Ellering) Athman. She married Emil Banach on October 24, 1944 at St. John's Church in Lastrup. Marie resided in the Pierz area all her life. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Christian Mothers Society and the Catholic Aid Society. Her interest included baking, sewing, gardening, playing cards, fishing, hunting, bowling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Joseph and wife Connie of Lastrup; daughters, Catherine and husband Denny Rothstein of Pierz, Mary and husband Ken Reinhart of Little Falls, Dorothy Pohlkamp and fiancé Kevin Thesing of Brainerd; grandchildren, Curt Banach, Darci Przybilla and fiancé Jamie Waytashek, Trina and Nathan Rothstein, Stephanie and Melissa Reinhart, Michael and Jessica Pohlkamp, Christopher, Jennifer and Mathew Thesing; one great-grandchild, Jordon Przybilla; brothers, Norbert of Lastrup, Irwin of Oregon, Virgil and Edward both of Pierz and Bernard of Little Falls; sisters, Irene Gaebel of Lastrup, Evelyn Branson of Minneapolis, Bernadine Loidolt of Pierz and Alice Poser of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emil in 1990; 3 brothers, Alex, Coelestin and Victor.
