Emil Edward Banach, 82, a resident of Route 3, Pierz, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, September 26, 1990. Emil was born October 22, 1907 in Buh Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late John and Catherine (Bieganski) Banach. He married Marie Athman on October 24, 1944 at St. John's Church in Lastrup. In addition to farming in the Pierz area, Emil was employed at Hartmann's Implement in Pierz, Farmer's Supply in Buckman and as a custodian for Memorial High School and St. Joseph's Grade School in Pierz.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and the Catholic Aide Society. His interests included hunting, fishing, reading, playing cards and watching his grandchildren.

Emil is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Joseph of Lastrup; daughters, Mrs. Denny (Catherine) Rothstein of Pierz, Mrs. Ken (Mary) Reinhart of Little Falls and Dorothy Pohlkamp of Brainerd; brother, Andrew of Lastrup; sisters, Mary Kapsner of Pierz and Martha Cowles of Minneapolis. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Curt Banach, Darci Przybilla, Trina and Nathan Rothstein, Stephanie and Melissa Reinhart, Michael and Jessica Pohlkamp; and one great-grandchild, Jordon Przybilla.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Tony and Pete; 2 sisters, Theresa Kapsner and Kate Reding.
