George Henry Cottrell was the son of George Gardner Cottrell 1833 and Lydia Ann Naramore.
George Henry's parents lived in Alden, Erie County, New York when he was born. The family moved (along with all of George Henry's father's siblings and parents) to Wisconsin by 1861 to Nepeuskin, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. By 1870 the family moved to Poysippi, Waushara, Wisconsin.
On October 10, 1889, George Henry married Anna L Larsen, daughter of Andrew Larsen 1824 and Ira, in Tigertown, Shawano, Wisconsin. The couple lived in Morris, Shawano County. George died in 1917. Anna continued to live in Wittenberg, Shawano and in Morcom, Minnesota until her death in 1945.

Oscar Louis 1892, married Anna Wolf, lived in Manitowoc and Appleton, Wisconsin. One child.
Laura C 1895, married Arthur Joubert, lived in Morris and Wittenberg, Shawano County. Two children.
Erwin Wheeler 1898, married Inez DeGroat, lived in West Depere and Depere in Outagamie and Brown Counties, Wisconsin. Nine children.
