Edith was born the twin of Etta born the first children of eight of Samuel Clinton and Emma Frances Wiesner Oberholzer.

Edith married Denton Miller Berger on November 18, 1908, in Hagerstown, MD, by Rev. C. K. Hartman.

Edith and Denton parented twelve children, three Edna, William and Ralph predeceased her. Nine surviving children included, Roy, Frances, Clinton 'Tab', Helen, Anna, Edith, Alice, Beulah, and Paul.

Edith lived most of her life in the Marsh District of Antrim Township.

Edith died of a stroke.
