BAXTER –Funeral services for Charlie William Evans, 70, will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 1981, in the Boma Church of God at 11 a.m., with Bro. Archie Whitefield and Bro. Clyde Cunningham officiatingwith burial following in the Smellage Cemetery.
Mr. Evans a native of Putnam County, died Sunday May 24 in his home. He was a retired farmer, the son of the late Grover Cleveland Evans and Mattie Martha Bates Evans.
Survivors include his wife Cleo Robinson Evans of Baxter; two sons, Robert E. Evans of Murfreesboro and David L. Evans of Baxter, three daughters; Reba June Rayburn of Auburn, GA, Jean Stapleton of Baxter, and Peggy Cho of Cookeville; a brother, John Evans; 14 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
