Kate came to Illinois with her parents and later married Harvey Abraham Cox in Rock Island County on 17 Dec. 1913. Kate gave birth to eleven children, several who are buried near her in Coal Valley, Illinois. Kate was hospitalized for pneumonia and tuberculosis and passed away at Moline Public Hospital on 06 -May -1934. She was preceded by one daughter, Dorothy May who lived only one day (10-July-1923) and one son, Jack who lived one year (1921 - 1922) She was survived by her husband and the other nine children. Her husband, Harvey never remarried and visited her grave faithfully every Sunday. He died in 1962 and is buried next to her.
