Funeral services for Hazel Butler were held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Clinton, OK, with the Rev. M. L. Stegall officiating, followed by burial at the Clinton cemetery.

Mrs. Butler, the third child and only daughter of James T. and Ada C.(Eddy) McLin, was born six miles west of Clinton in a dugout. She was married to Hobart Goss on Sep. 12, 1923 at Clinton. To this union were born three children, James Hobart, Wanda Jean and Gerald Wayne.

On Aug. 28, 1933 Hazel was married to Rye Butler at Cordell, Washita County, OK. To this union was born one son, Marcus Dale. She and her husband operated a bakery in Weatherford from 1934 to 1940 and lived in Apache from 1941 to 1957. She also was employed by the Western Oklahoma Tuberculosis Sanitorium in Clinton for about five years.

Mrs. Butler died suddenly in Oklahoma General Hospital in Clinton. Preceded in death by her first husband in 1930, her parents and an infant brother, she was survived by her husband, Rye, and her children: Jim Goss of Lone Grove, OK, Gerald Goss of Ardmore, Ok, Marcus Butler of Shingle Springs, CA and Mrs. C. L. (Wanda) Muse, of Edmond, OK. Also surviving were four brothers: Tom McLin, of Arlington, TX, Dale McLin, of Scottsbluff, NE, Harvey, McLin, of Wichita Falls, TX and Marvin McLin, of Wellston, OK; eight grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
