Marker is a building block

"It will be noted that a number of the markers are red ceramic building blocks. Roy Champer of Carrollton who was born in 1900, recalls making these markers while employed by the Carrollton Brick Company from 1922-1925."
Carroll County Genealogical Society

Her obituary in the Carroll Free Press, Carrollton, Ohio, Wednesday, December 29, 1886.

Died--At her home in this township, on Christmas night, Mrs. Elizabeth Champer (nee Ernst) departed this life at the unusual age of 87 years and 28 days. She was born in Pennsylvania on the 27th day of November, 1799, and in early life became a member of the German Reform Church. More than 60 years ago, she became the wife of Jacob Champer, and moved on the same farm where she has lived the remainder of her life, and of which marriage she was the mother of eleven children, six of whom survive and all were present at her funeral. Her remains were on Monday placed in the family grave yard, alongside her deceased husband, attended by a large number of relatives, neighbors and fiends. Rev. Patterson officiating.

Information researched by Richard Paul Culler of Carrollton, Ohio.

Thanks, Richard
