Mrs. Sarah Staley, after a long illness from heart trouble, died Friday and was buried Monday in the Champer burial ground. The services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Lutz, of the Lutheran church. Her maiden name was Champer, and she was born 75-yrs ago on the farm on which she died and passed her entire life. Since the burning of her house about 3-yrs ago she lived in the home of her brother, Israel Champer, who is the last of 11 children of Jacob and Elizabeth Champer, who were among the earliest settlers of the county. Her father was county surveyor for a number of years. She was married to Joseph Staley, who died about 9 years ago. Elizabeth Staley, at home, is a surviving daughter.
