CHATSWORTH - A Memorial Mass For Glenn W. Schroen, 77, Chatsworth, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Chatsworth.

The Rev. Richard Brunskill will officiate. Inurnment will be in Germanville Township Cemetery, rural Chatsworth.

Friends may visit with the family after the cemetery service Saturday at the church Parish Hall. Stewart Funeral Home, Cullom, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schroen died at 8:30 a.m. Monday (April 1, 1991) at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville.

He was born June 9, 1913, in Germanville Township, Livingston County, a son of Charles B. and Eva M. Knight Schroen. He married Rita J. McNichols on Nov. 27, 1948, in St. Felicatis Church, Chicago. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons; four daughters; one sister; and nine grandchildren.

An infant daughter and a brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Schroen was a 1931 graduate of Melvin High School. He had farmed for 25 years and was employed at Central Soya in Gibson City. He later worked for five years at Pontiac Correctional Center until his retirement in 1975.

He was a Marine veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, and participated in the Battle of Guadalcanal.

He was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; Tri-County Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 4160, Piper City; and a former member of Melvin VFW Post 6334 and Walter Clements American Legion Post of Chatsworth.
