Rita J. Schroen, 81, of Chatsworth died at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Chatsworth.
Rita was born January 25, 1923, a daughter of Lillian Stanley and James Joseph McNichols. She married Glenn W. Schroen on November 27, 1948 in Chicago. He died April 1, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Joseph and Jack McNichols of Chicago; a daughter; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by one brother; four daughters; three sons; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She retired from Dwight Correctional Center in 1994. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Good Neighbors, Melvin Home Extension and AFSCME. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Carle Development Foundation in support of The Carle Foundation Hospital Auxiliary Guest House.
