BOWMAN – Dorothy Alice (Lybarger), 84, Hollsopple, Conemaugh Township, was called home to be with her Lord, Dec 30, 2007. Born Sept. 11, 1923, in Conemaugh Township, daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Jane (Thomas) Lybarger. Also preceded in death by sister, Althea Kaufman, Hollsopple. Survived by loving husband of 61 years, David Bowman, Hollsopple; sisters, Anna Ruth Spangler, Hollsopple; and Esther Baumgardner, Johnstown; brothers, George Lybarger, Hollsopple; and David Lybarger, Richmond, Ind. Also survived by these children, David, and wife Mary, Houston; Robert, and wife Ola, Theodore, Ala.; and Bonnie Taylor, and her husband, Chris, of Springfield, Va. Loving grandma to Ann, Paul and Craig, children of David and Mary; Sara, Justus, Jewel, Joy, Jamie, Joel and June, children of Robert and Ola; and Jill, Erin and Jared, children of Bonnie and Chris. Also great-grandma to Taylor, Austin, Madison, Reagan, Michael and Mason. Dorothy, a member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, was committed to her Savior Jesus Christ and is remembered for her love of and walk with God; her work as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, her community outreach and love for children. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, fellow church members and the Hollsopple Senior Citizens’ Center and the St. Francis Food Pantry of Hollsopple, where she was a volunteer for more than 20 years. She will be sadly missed by family, friends and all who crossed her path. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren. Those interested, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the St. Francis Food Pantry of Hollsopple, in care of St. Francis Caring and Sharing, P.O. Box 250, Hollsopple, Pa. 15935. Arrangements by George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville.
