David T. Lucas, one of the oldest residents of Tippecanoe county, passed away last night at mid-night at his home in Stockwell. Death was caused by paralysis and he had been in poor health for some time. Mr. . Lucas was born in this county on Jan 12, 1837, and his entire life was spent here. He was widely known throughout the county and was an industrious and useful citizen. He is survived by a widow and two children, Ross Lucas, of Morocco, and Miss Effie Lucas, who lives at home. Mr. Lucas was a veteran of the civil war, enlisting to repel the Morgan raiders. The funeral will be conducted from the Stockwell Methodist church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. C. H. Leeson will officiate, and the interment will be in the Stockwell cemetery.
